Did you know?
It’s one of your most important tools.
The electronic medical record (EMR), one of healthcare’s most valuable tools, was never designed to work for you. The original purpose of digitizing healthcare was and is to improve reimbursement. EMRs are built to capture the information needed to bill patients and insurance companies.
An unwieldy EMR causes unnecessary delays which leads to unsafe workarounds, ultimately hindering patient care rather than supporting it. It is up to us, healthcare providers on the front lines, to push for the changes we need to make the EMR work for us.
